Now days, most of companies focused on
budget smartphones. Keeping in mind, Xiaomi launched Redmi Series 6. Redmi 6
Pro is latest phone of this series which is considered as most powerful in
processing. It has powerful SoC processor like flagship smartphones. Now let’s
see how Redmi 6 Pro performs.
Design:
It was expected the better change in
this phone due to premium of this series. But overall design of this phone is
much differs than its predecessor. Which Xiaomi gives as usual in this price
range. At first glance, it looks thick but can be manageable in hand. On the
left side dedicated SIM tray is available, you can use 2 SIM cards and micro SD
card at same time. Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro doesn’t support dual 4G VOLTE which means
you can use only 4G SIM.
On the bottom side, charging port and
speakers are placed. Headphone jack is placed at the top of the phone along
with IR emitter which worked as remote sensor. Moving towards backside, dual
camera set-up placed vertically which looks impressive. Fingerprint sensor is
also placed backside on phone which is very responsive.
Display:
The main attraction of Redmi 6 Pro
is its 5.84” full HD+ display. Display has a layer of touched glass but
specifications of this layer didn’t revealed. Notch covered more area than
expected, which looks very massive. Border around the panel is thick and on
bottom chin is also thicker. This design is least attractive from all
smartphones with notch. LED notification light embeds in chin which doesn’t
look great.
Processor & Operating System:
Redmi 6
Pro powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC processor. Which is not latest but
sufficient to complete normal tasks. Due to old processor this phone doesn’t
perform well in gaming. I tried to play PUBG on this smartphone, but PUBG run
at low graphics and also not running smoothly. For normal usage it works very
well. Simple games run smoothly without any lag. Instead of 4GB RAM bigger
games like Asphalt and PUBG run at medium to low qualities. This phone runs on
MIUI 9.6 which is based upon android 8.1. You can update this into MIUI10.
Camera:
The rear camera of this phone is
12MP has f/2.2 aperture with PDAF mode along with 5MP depth sensor. Auto focus
& Auto HDR doing good job by balancing the quality of pictures in good
light. Main sensor works very well to resolve minor aspects. It saved HDR
images little slower. Auto focus also takes long time in low light conditions. Blur
effect also not worked properly at night.
This phone has 5MP selfie camera which
click good quality images in day light but in low light conditions quality of pictures
get lowered. The reason behind this low quality is the absence of LED flash on
front. It has moderate video quality. You can record video at its maximum
resolution i.e 1080 pixels. Overall quality of camera is good as compared to
price range. But it can be improved.
Battery:
Redmi 6 Pro comes with massive 4000mAh
battery which is best positive point of this phone. You can charge this battery
from 0 to 100% with 10W charger in 2 hours 30 minutes approximately. The phone
doesn’t support fast charging. It consumes 7 to 8% battery while playing PUBG
for 30 minutes which is good enough.
Price & Storage:
Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro is
available in 3GB/4GB of RAM with 32GB/64GB of storage variants. The price of
3GB RAM & 32GB storage is Rs. 8999/- and you have to pay Rs. 10999/- for
4GB RAM & 4GB storage.
Conclusion:
Xiaomi doesn’t give difference
in Redmi 6 Pro as compared to Redmi Note 5. Redmi Y2 also available in market
in Rs.1000 less than this phone with high quality front camera. I recommend you
to buy Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 in this price range which is better than this
phone.
