Xiaomi is one of the fastest growing company among all smartphone companies from last 18 months. Now Xiaomi is also biggest smartphone brand. Xiaomi get success with Redmi series due to low budget smartphones with powerful processors. Customers of low end smartphones welcomed Xiaomi but customers from high end smartphones like Samsung and OnePlus brands yet. Pocophone F1 is the first product of series available with massive 4000mAh battery along with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. Most surprising thing about pocophone F1 is its price range. Base model of this phone is available in Rs. 20999/- which is most reasonable price till now for flagship processor. Let’s review the POCOPhone F1.
Physical Overview:
Let’s start with physical look, on the right side power button & volume buttons are available. 3.5mm headphones jack & secondary mic for noise cancellation available at top. On the left side sim tray is available which is hybrid, means you can place two sim cards or one sim & one micro SD card. At the bottom there is USB Type-C port for charging, speakers and microphone available. On the back side of smartphone cameras and fingerprint sensor are adjusted vertically which look nice.
Design and Build Quality:
Polycarbonate material is used in POCO F1 phone. In simple words, I mean its body made of plastic material. Thickness of this smartphone is 8.8 mm which is on higher side. Reason behind this thickness may be 4000 mAh battery. When you hold this phone in your hand, you didn’t feel it like premium phone. There is no doubt it is a solid phone but it doesn’t give feel of premium phone.
Display:
This phone has 6.18” display, 18.7:9 aspect ratio with notch design. The phone’s display has FHD+ resolution and gorilla glass 3 protection also provided. Talking about color contrast, good saturated colors are provided, outdoor visibility of display is better but not the best. The disappointing thing of the display is that while you are playing video, you can see the curved edges on its right and rectangular edges on its left, which is very annoying. Due to this reason overall experience of video is not good enough.
Processor:
POCO F1 powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octacore processor with Adreno 630 GPU. You can play PUBG mobile game on HDR graphics and ultra frame rates. While playing PUBG on HDR graphics overall game play is very smooth and very responsive touch. Mostly smartphones get heated while playing on HDR graphics, but I have not face heating issue in this phone while playing game. Liquid cooling technology is used in this due to which you will not face heating issue after playing game for many hours.
Operating System: POCO F1 has MIUI 9.6 operating system similar to other Xiaomi devices. This phone run at Android 8.1 oreo but you can update it later to Android 9 Pie and MIUI10.
Camera:
Xiaomi POCOPHONE F1 has 12MP primary camera with f/1.9 aperture and also has 5MP depth sensor with f/2.0 aperture. There are more features also available like you can record slow motion video with dual pixel PDAF at pixel 1080@240 fps resolution. You can also record 4K video by enabling video stabilization. While recording 4K video, video stabilization doesn’t work properly. Video stabilization work properly at 1080 pixels. While clicking pictures autofocus works very well. It clicks very impressive pictures of natural color contrast.
POCOPHONE F1 has 20MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture. Portrait mode also available for front camera. Which doesn’t click impressive images. It detect edges properly and blur the background in natural way. But sometimes blur effect doesn’t occur in proper way. It clicks impressive pictures also in low light conditions. Performance of this smartphone can be compared with flagship smartphones but camera quality can’t be compared with flagship smartphones.
Battery:
This smartphone has 4000 mAh massive battery which supports quick charger. Quick charger also available in box. It takes 1 hour 45 minutes for charging from 0 to 100% with quick charger which is good enough. Talking about battery performance, if you play games and use internet continuously then normally it perform for a whole day. But if you use phone normally then battery can also perform for 1 and ½ day. Battery performance is the positive point for this smartphone.
Other Details:
Talking about security, POCO F1 Smartphone has IR dedicated camera which helps in face recognition. Face recognition works very smoothly and fast. Fingerprint sensor also performs very well. This phone has dual stereo speakers one at bottom and another in earpiece. Call quality of this phone also very good, there is no problem regarding call dropping. This phone supports dual 4G VOLTE due to which you can use both SIM in 4G mode.

This phone is available in 6GB &8GB of RAM with 64/128/256GB of storage variants. POCO F1 price Rs. 19999/- for 6GB RAM & 64GB storage, Rs. 22999/- for 6GB & 128GB variant, Rs. 27999/- for 8GB & 256GB variant.
