WhatsApp write in a recent blog post to
implement restrictions on message forwarding for all users globally. WhatsApp
taken this step of security to fight the menace of rumours and fake viral
information viral information as per WhatsApp's blog. These changes have been
done to maintain the image of private messaging app.
WhatsApp evaluate this issue and listen to user’s
feedback over 6-12 years then take this step to limit the forwarding messages
on to five chats. WhatsApp also remove quick forward button for Indian users.
Government of India asked WhatsApp for
effective solution beyond just labellingforwards. They also asked to identify
fake news. This is very serious issue in India which needs a more sensitive
response. India is an important market for WhatsApp as well as for its upcoming
features like whatsapp business and whatsapp payments.
In the light of general elections which are
scheduled for 2019. WhatsApp gains special attention due to its use and miss
use. In recent state elections whatsapp plays a major role politically. The
political parties formed thousands of whatsapp groups which are used to send
thousands of politically spam messages in just one minute easily. Indian
government said that for these political spam messages whatsapp also has
accountability. Due to this whatsapp imposed this limit.

verification model which will release before elections.
