Redmi Note 6 Pro Review

Success of Redmi Note Series make the Xiaomi brand market leader. The reason behind the success of this company is powerful processor at low price as compared to other companies. Redmi Note 5 Pro from Note Series launched in February 2018 which got famous very much. People have high expectations from Redmi Note 6 Pro. Let’s read the full review of this smartphone.

Physical Overview:

You get power button on right side along with volume buttons. On the top IR blaster is available which is used as remote control. At the top side 3.5mm headphone jack provided by company. For cancelation of noise secondary mic also available at top. On the left side of smartphone, there is nothing without SIM tray which is hybrid as usual given by Xiaomi. It is better if Xiaomi provided dedicated SIM slot. Moving towards bottom side mic, speakers and USB port attached here.

Design and Build Quality:

You get Redmi Note 6 Pro smartphone in metal body similar to Redmi 5 Pro. It has curved edges on back side. It has better grip when you hold this in your hand. It looks very solid without any defect in design, but Xiaomi does not change its design frequently which makes it boring. If Xiaomi will provide glass back or polycarbonate in design then it looks more impressive. It doesn’t look like premium smartphones, but you get metal body. Talking about weight, it has 181grams weight which is more than Realme U1 and Asus Max Pro M2. Redmi Note 6 Pro is heavy in weight due to its metal body. Its thickness is approximately 8.22mm due to which it falls under slim smartphone category. Talking about overall design it has metal body but doesn’t look like premium phones. If you like typical design of Xiaomi’s smartphones then you can consider this phone.

Display:

This smartphone has 6.2” FHD display with 19:9 aspect ratio. But negative point about display is that it has large chin at bottom and also big notch at top. According to my point of view, reason behind this big notch is dual camera setup. It also has gorilla glass protection but company doesn’t mention the type of gorilla glass protection. Overall quality of display is good.

Processor:

This phone powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 636, 1.8GHz octacore processor with Adreno 509 GPU. You can play games very smoothly without any lag. Processor also performed very while multitasking. But in the same price range Snapdragon 660 also available but we are surprised why Xiaomi not not change processor from Redmi Note 5 Pro.

Camera:

It has same camera as Redmi Note 5 Pro which is 12MP+5MP with f/1.9+f/2.2 aperture. It also has 1.4 micron pixel and dual pixel auto focus. Due to which this camera clicks impressive pictures in low light conditions. You can record video in 1080@30fps pixels but unable to record 4K video. Dual pixel autofocus works sufficiently fast. In rear camera 32 different filters are available.

Redmi Note 6 Pro has 20MP front camera with 2MP depth sensor. Camera performs very well with the help of f/2.0 aperture. Portrait mode and AI support system also available. No LED flash is available for front camera, only screen flash is available. Overall camera quality is good.

Battery:

It has massive 4000mAh battery, which is good as per quality. Quick charger 3.0 support option is available to charge battery. But in box you will get 5V/2A charger. Quick charger 3.0 you will have to buy yourself. Average battery backup is 15-16 hours, which is more than enough under normal conditions. You can play PUBG Mobile for 3hours 40minutes to 4hours continuously in single 100% charger.

Price and Storage:

This phone is available in 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB storage variants. Hybrid SIM tray is also available to expand storage if you want. But you can use only one SIM in that case. This phone support dual 4G but you can’t use two SIM and one memory card together. Which is drawback of this phone. Price for 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage is Rs. 13999/- and for 6GB of RAM and 64GB storage is Rs. 15999/-

Conclusion

If you are going to buy new smartphone of Redmi then you can choose this phone. But if you are going to exchange this phone with Redmi Note 5 Pro then drop this idea because there is not much difference in specifications between these smartphones. As per my personal view it is a good smartphone in this price range.
